Series sunday matinees

Enjoy a Sunday afternoon concert in the company of 80 of the most talented musicians in London.

This season’s matinees feature Brahms’ First Symphony and Schubert’s Eighth, the ‘Unfinished’; piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky; and two British favourites: Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis, and Britten’s A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.

Our Sunday matinees start at 3pm and finish around 5pm. Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall is within easy reach of Waterloo, Charing Cross and Embankment stations, so it’s a great place to meet up with friends and family. Why not make a day of it and enjoy a meal before or after the concert?

Matinees are a great way to give young people their first experience of live classical music – we welcome children over the age of 7 to any of our concerts, with tickets from £8.
