Tamás Sándor Joint Principal 2nd Violin

Tamás Sándor is Joint Principal 2nd Violin of the Philharmonia Orchestra

Tamás learnt to play the violin aged 7 and enjoyed the benefits of the famous Hungarian Kodály system.  He studied at the Liszt Academy, Budapest, focusing on solo repertoire and chamber music. After a fantastic few years playing as part of a string quartet, and receiving numerous prizes, Tamás was given opportunities to travel across Europe and America, performing with numerous Orchestras.

Following a move to Antwerp, he joined the Royal Flemish Philharmonic; combining chamber music (from string trio to piano sextet) with playing with a full orchestra.

In 2013, Tamás began playing with the Philharmonia Orchestra and joined as a full member in 2014 as Principal 2nd violin.
