Sophie Cameron

2nd Violin

Sophie Cameron studied at the Royal Northern College of Music for both her undergraduate and Masters degrees, and graduated in 2012 with Distinction.

Whilst studying she was a recipient of the Roger Raphael Prize, winner of the Schubert Prize and Barbirolli Chamber Award. As a chamber musician Sophie has played throughout the country in venues including the Purcell Room and the Wigmore Hall. She has collaborated with artists including the Medici Quartet, and as part of the Gildas Quartet was a Tunnell Trust recipient and awarded a Park Lane Group Young Artist place.

Sophie enjoyed being in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as sub principal 2nd violin and freelancing for orchestras around the country before she joined the Philharmonia.

In her free time Sophie likes listening to lots of different kinds of music, skiing and playing football.
